About John C. McGregor John C. McGregor, was an archaeologist, who is credited with at least 42 works in 129 publications. He was one of the founding members of the Illinois Archaeological Survey, and helped create the archaeology program at the University of Illinois. He also was the acting chief of the Illinois State Museum from 1942-1945. This book is a series of essays that examine the work of John C. McGregor.
